#5: Where Should We Begin?
The Karamoja region in Uganda is considered one of the poorest places on earth. Extreme poverty is rampant and the residents have, for years, suffered from dry spells, drought, conflicts, unemployment and so much more.
In 2017, Innovation:Africa, an Israeli non-profit organization that brings Israeli solar, water and agricultural technologies to rural African villages, discovered a number of villages in the Karamoja district. Founded in 2008, Innovation:Africa has provided light and clean water to 1.8 million people, completing 300 projects, in 10 African countries.
When the IA team arrived in Karamoja, they did not expect to find what they saw.
