The Karamoja region in Uganda is considered one of the poorest places on earth. Extreme poverty is rampant and the residents have, for years, suffered from dry spells, drought, conflicts, unemployment and so much more. In 2017, Innovation:Africa, an Israeli non-profit organization that brings Israeli solar, water and agricultural technologies to rural African villages, discovered a number of villages in the Karamoja district.
